Arbor Initiative is a student-led nonprofit organization that aims to increase proficiency in literacy among students in Baltimore City. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to bridge the lack of resources provided especially for the transition to online learning. Our goal is to provide sustainable resources to students to help navigate online learning, focusing on donated items to promote environmental friendliness.
Students in Baltimore face shortages in resources and Arbor Initiative counteracts this by collecting devices and books to donate to students. Our goal is to help students navigate through online learning and level the socioeconomic barriers in education. Our initiative is more essential than ever due to the onset of COVID-19 as online learning has become much more prevalent.
